Our Talks
ARC hosts a series of free talks throughout the year as part of our services to support persons affected by cancer, their families and loved ones. ARC works in collaboration with Health Care Professionals to provide educational and informational talks on various topics relating to a cancer diagnosis and cancer care.

Nutrition & Cancer
Evidence-based advice on eating well during and after cancer treatment for optimal health.
Cancer Fatigue
Tips and techniques for dealing with cancer related fatigue.
Pain Management
Pain often develops as the side effect of cancer or in response to treatments. This talk will look at how to control and manage pain.
Physical Activity
This talk will offer you information on the benefits of movement and exercise before, during and after cancer treatment.
Bereavement
Provides participants with the opportunity to explore and discuss the different stages of grief, their own relationship with bereavement, and to find support for themselves and others on this very personal journey.
Palliative Care
Explaining what palliative care is and how it improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness.
Positive Appearance
Practical information to manage the visible signs of cancer, hair loss, breast surgery, skin and body changes and less visible signs such as fatigue, well-being and self-image.
Talking to Children & Adolescents about Cancer
This talk is suitable for any person who is impacted by cancer and has young people in their lives.

What we offer
ARC Cancer Support Centres offers a range of complementary therapies free of charge in group classes and workshops.
Counselling
Counselling is provided to clients and their family members to help cope a cancer diagnosis.
Open Men's Support Group
This group provides an opportunity to give and receive support from others.
Manual Lymph Drainage
Manual lymph drainage is a specialised treatment for cancer-related lymphoedema.
Open Women's support Group
This group provides an opportunity to give and receive support from others.
Cancer Thrive & Survive
This programme is for those who have finished treatment or who may have moved on to long term maintenance treatment.
Stress Management
This programme teaches coping techniques that can be put into daily practice to minimize stress.
Time to Adjust
This is a six week group based cognitive behavioral therapy programme for patients recovering from breast cancer.
ARC Choir
The ARC Choir offers fun and social interaction at its monthly meeting. Catering for every kind of musical taste, all newcomers welcome, from a scream to soprano!
Mindfulness
This programme helps to manage stress and improve well-being.
