Drop-In Centres
When you hear the word "cancer", everything afterwards can seem like a blur.
With it comes a new reality of tests and treatments, of consultant appointments and of hospital visits. Life as you knew it suddenly becomes very different. The plans you had become different plans.
At ARC Cancer Support Centres, we know how it feels to be diagnosed with cancer or to have someone you love diagnosed. We know about the tidal wave of emotions that comes with it. We know because many of our volunteers and staff have experienced it and come through it.
It’s why we make a special effort to greet you with open arms at our two Drop-in Centres where you are encouraged to sit back and unwind in the comfort of our sitting rooms or to step out into our courtyard and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our outdoor gardens.
Our aim is to provide you with a sensitive environment where you will be able to have a discreet chat with one of our professional staff members or trained volunteers. They are supportive and empathetic and you will be able to meet with others who have their own cancer experience to share and benefit from that mutual support. Have a cup of tea, a chat and find out more about the services that are available to you and your family.
One thing that you can be guaranteed when you arrive is a warm welcome and a space that will help make you relax. Knocking on our door is an important first step in dealing with any worries and anxieties that you may have. It is the start of a path that will bring solace and peace of mind.
