What is ARC?

ARC Cancer Support Centre is an Irish voluntary organisation that supports men and women affected by cancer. Whether someone has recently been diagnosed with cancer, is recovering from treatment, or is a parent, family member, or friend of someone with cancer, coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis can have a devastating impact.

ARC offers professional support, counselling and complementary therapies in a calm and caring environment to nurture the individual, relieve their stress and anxiety, and encourage healing in a holistic manner.

Through both her personal experiences and her work, Mairead knows the impact of a cancer diagnosis and the emotional upheaval it brings to patients and their loved ones. She is committed to seeking out and representing the views and priorities of as many people with cancer as possible. We know that she will do this with as much gusto and energy as she puts into life and we are incredibly proud of her." - Deirdre Grant, CEO, ARC
